THE COUNTRY OF COSTA RICA CLOSED IN 2020 IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC. WE STRUGGLED TO SURVIVE THROUGH THE NEALRY YEAR LONG SHUT DOWN. THE UNITED STATES MADE INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE LOOKING FOR MEDICAL CARE ABROAD. WE HAD TO CLOSE THE FACILITY AND GIVE THE KEYS BACK TO THE LENDER. WE ARE GRATEFUL TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DOCUMENT A LARGE NUMBER OF SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES DURING OUR STUDIES.

Reversing Cancer and Building Better Models of Health
The human body is amazing. There are hundreds of thousands of incredibly complex actions happening at any given moment. Our bodies can tolerate a surprising amount of toxic exposures and imbalances. Eventually industrialized living (and its costs) catch up. The current default approach is to treat the cancer, but ignore the causes, influences, or risk factors.

Healing versus hurting
Everything we do is designed to help regain balance and inspire the body to heal. The current conventional model focuses on treatment by force, but at the VIDA Center we focus on evidence based systems that help the body to regain balance and are proven to increase critical immune functions. We are a HEALING CENTER, not a hospital or a hospice. We are not a last chance option. We use an Integrative Medical Model. We rely on non toxic, natural methods as a primary, front line approach.
what does a healing program look like?
IT Begins with NATURE
There is no substitute for Nature. It is where we come from. We chose Costa Rica for all of its regenerative character and abundance. The VIDA Center is perfectly nestled on more than a dozen acres of pristine land and overlooks its own private beach. There is an amazing harmony between the people, the land, the water, the animal life and the ocean.
LUXURY ACCOMMODATIONS
Let’s all admit that we want to be pampered, at list a little bit. We have twice as many staff members as we do guests. High thread count linens on luxurious beds with awe inspiring views. Each bungalow is a unique experience. Staff manages the pesky tasks of bed making, laundry, cleaning and food preparation. It is your time to be pampered and loved on.
DE-STRESS & DETOXIFICATION
One of our chief aims is to help you in radically reducing stress. And there is no better time to detoxify from electronics, poor diet, pharmaceutical side effects, busy industrialized living and challenging relationships. This is a time and a place to unwind, catch your breath, and let go of the physical, emotional and mental toxins that are robbing your health.
FOOD AS MEDICINE
Food is THE cornerstone of healing. Your body cannot perform its functions or overcome stressors without sufficient, quality nutrients. The VIDA Center is founded on Food as Medicine. There is no confusion or fad diet distraction. We teach the science behind eating approaches that work as therapy and provide longevity. Food should be delicious, exciting and appealing.

Microbiome and functional medicine labs
There is so much useful information to be captured in Functional Lab tests. We use blood, urine and stool to measure nutrient holdings, deficiencies, underlying infections, overgrowths, and imbalances. It many cases it makes sense to look at food sensitivities, hormone production, viral history, or more.
1 on 1, Personalized and small group settings
One of our greatest strengths is the commitment to small group size. We choose to keep an intimate and personal experience. Healing happens when we have a sense of being seen, our voice heard, and our needs being met. Bigger is not better.

what makes the center unique?
The VIDA Center is a HEALING CENTER. We recognize and honor that there are many options in the Alternative Cancer Treatment category. The majority of these are still based on concepts of using poisons (sometimes in lower doses) to ‘kill’ cancer, or using illnesses to make a person sick to get better.
We don’t use popular toxic treatments. We don’t employ the latest fad-based piece of equipment that does magic (until it is put to the test). We don’t use unproven (or disproven) IV treatments. We recognize that there are supportive benefits to some IV based protocols, but we see these as attempts to bypass, override, and ignore the underlying dysfunctions.
